Veteran Flag Retirement  Program

A Fitting Marker

Flag Retirement Program

We will be hosting a flag collection receptacle for the placement of worn United States flags that are no longer worthy of service. The flags will be processed with respect and in accordance with government protocol which states in the U. S. Code: "The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem of display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning,"

These Flags Will Be Used To Honor Our Fallen Veterans

At the death of a veteran who will be cremated, permission will be sought from the family to use a retired U.S. flag to drape the cremation container. Upon receipt of the cremated remains of their veteran, the family will receive a certificate stating the last deed of service for that particular flag was to drape their veteran during the cremation process.

Your donation of a retired flag is greatly appreciated. This is a free and voluntary program that honors our Veterans and our Flag. Please call our funeral home for more information.
