Willie Mae Hassold Soefje of Seguin, TX passed away to her new heavenly home on Feb 4, 2024 at the age of 100.  Willie Mae was born on Dec 15, 1923 in Taft, Texas to Elmer Hassold and Ella Buss Hassold.  

Willie Mae lived a full and active life.  She married Eugene Soefje in 1946 and they were married for 30 years until his passing in 1976. Their marriage was blessed with three sons, Elmer, Ronald and John.  She enjoyed raising her family, gardening, canning, farm life, live music and dancing.  After being a widow for 22 years, she married Leroy Pfullmann in 1998. They were married for 11 years until his passing.  Willie Mae was active in her social clubs; including the New Braunfels Eagles Auxiliary, AARP, the Senior Citizen Center in Seguin, Bunco Club and was a member of Cross Church in Seguin.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene Soefje; second husband, Leroy Pflumann; siblings, Lorraine Hassold Bading, Elmer “Ernie” Hassold and James “Jimmy” Hassold; son, Ronald Soefje; daughter in law, Karen Grimm Soefje; granddaughter, Carolyn Timmons and grandson, Nicholas Soefje.  Survivors include sons, Elmer Soefje and John Soefje; daughters in law, Elsie Buehring Soefje and Debbie Busch Soefje; grandchildren, Aaron Soefje, Kenneth Soefje, Theresa Mae Soefje McKnight, Kassie Soefje Johnson and Jillian Soefje James; 18 great grandchildren; numerous friends and extended family.  Willie Mae, “Tilly” as she was sometimes affectionately called, will be lovingly remembered.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Goetz Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. Immediately following the burial, all attendees are invited to a reception at the Cross Church Fellowship Hall.
