Vivian Richard Bush was born on Wednesday, November 2, 1921, to the loving and proud parents of Frank and Rosa Frab Richard. Vivian and her sister Rose were the only children from that union. Under the advisement of Vivian’s father/Frank’s Physician, her parents set out to relocate from New Orleans, Louisiana to the West Coast of California, shortly after their wedding on Monday, September 27, 1915. However, once they reached the township of Seguin, Texas, located within the Greater San Antonio area, they made the decision to settle in Seguin, and it became their permanent place of abode.
Vivian was born, nearly one decade, prior to the onset of gold-booming activities in Seguin, and she remained there throughout her college years and her brief, post-graduate employment period. It was then, when the trajectory of Vivian’s journey was catapulted into the direction of her parents’ initial/post-nuptial aim, to California; a milestone occurrence for Vivian.
In California, Vivian became acquainted with two interests that would become the loves of her life, in addition to the love she had for family: The City of Los Angeles and a man named Tommy Bush. The two married in The City of Angels, and became and remained as one, until Tommy’s death. Vivian never remarried, and remained in the City of Los Angeles, until she met her demise.
She was employed within and retired from the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). Vivian was an avid lover of cooking/baking and a fervent follower of Christ, Jesus. Her home church was that of St. John Chrysostom, located in the historic city of Inglewood California. She was a faithful congregant who loved attending Sunday Services, and even until shortly before her passing, she drove herself to church every Sunday with few exceptions.
Vivian met her demise on Friday, June 16, 2023. She passed away, peacefully, as she slept. She was 101.6 years of age. She was preceded in death by her parents: Frank and Rosa Frab Richard, her sister: Rose Richard and her husband: Tommy Bush. Basically, Vivian outlived the majority of her family members and friends. She leaves behind to cherish her memory; a host of her former students who remained connected with her and loved her, as did her natural family members.
May her life and times be forever honored, as a blessed and highly-favored Centenarian.
