Ruth Tullos

Ruth Helen Key Tullos, age 94 of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2022, while living in Seguin, Texas.  She was born June 20, 1928, in Huntsville, Texas, the daughter of Porter and Irma Key. Ruth grew up in Dodge, Texas and graduated from Huntsville High School.  She attended business college in Houston; meeting Jesse Dean Tullos, who would prove to be the love of her life, on a blind date in 1947.  They were married in 1948 and were married for 67 years.

Ruth was a devout Christian being an active member in church all her life.  She was also a devoted mother and grandmother loving time with her family more than anything.  She was a talented seamstress and loved arts and crafts.  She started her own arts and crafts business and traveled for many years selling her creations at festivals and fairs around the state of Texas.  Her label, “Another Original by Ruth,” was an indication of a quality product.  In her later years, she declined in health but even through those years her infectious laugh and her “ hello, hello ,” gave joy to her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Dean Tullos; son-in-law, Jack L. Herndon; parents, Porter E. and Irma Shelton Key; siblings, Porter Key, Robert Key, James Key, Stanford Key, and Nella Hairr.

Survivors include her four children: Nancy Herndon, Irma (Donnie) Wiltshire, Buddy (Tina) Tullos, Luke (Kimberely) Tullos; her ten grandchildren,  Randy Herndon, Timothy (Jennifer) Herndon, Kyle (Joni) Wiltshire, Wendy (Scott) McGuire, Gena (Joshua) Copeland, Justin (Jardyn) Tullos, Kristen (Lucas) Duffey, Natasha (John) White, Chelsea Brown, Caitlin Brown; 18 great grandchildren, and three great, great, grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be in the care of Goetz Funeral Home,  Seguin Texas.
