Pedro Juan Hernandez

Pedro Juan Hernandez passed away peacefully with family by his side on Friday, January 17, 2025 at the age of 89. Juan was born in Redwood Texas to Victoriano Hernandez and Delores Garza on May 13, 1935.

Juan worked for Dean Word Company on road and bridge construction for decades, guiding crews for many years, working closely with TXDOT inspectors, and was a highly respected employee of the company. With his experience he led work efforts on the most challenging and sometimes hazardous work details.

Juan will always be remembered as a helpful, devout and hard working man. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. 

He led his family in faith insuring they were always in church at Our Lady of Guadalupe where he served decades as an usher and member of the Holy Name Society.

Juan is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 49 years Pauline Suarez Hernandez, son Michael John Hernandez, and siblings Guadalupe Hernandez, Victoria Machuca, Petra Gonzales, Felipa Montoya, Fidencio Hernandez Sr, and Magdaleno Hernandez.

He is survived by his son Paul Patrick Hernandez (Sandy), and daughter-in-law Patricia "Patty" Moreno, grandchildren Lindsey Boughton (Doyle) , Jacob Hernandez, Michael Vincent Hernandez, and great-grandchildren Lydia, Ava and Matthew Boughton. He is also survived by his brother Gumecindo Hernandez (Janie) and sister Maria Rodriguez, and many beloved family members.

Visitation will be held at Goetz Funeral Home, 713 N. Austin St., Seguin on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. followed by the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 409 W Krezdorn St, Seguin, TX 78155 with interment following at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park Cemetery, 2951 TX-46, New Braunfels.

Family and friends are invited to a luncheon reception immediately following burial at the Knights of Columbus Hall located at 1015 S. Austin St. Seguin, Texas 78155.
