Mike Scurto entered into the presence of Jesus on Friday morning, February 7 in Live Oak, TX. Mike was born September 21st 1931 in lower Manhattan New York, NY.
Mike is known and loved for his jovial nature and dry humor (including “flirting” with the ladies) and those who were blessed to care for him quickly grew to love him. He loved animals (especially dogs) and movies and was often content to sit watching movies and petting a dog (or several) or watching the birds. He also enjoyed reading the scripture to learn more about his Savior, Jesus. His favorite verse was John 1:1.
Mike held many jobs during his life including as a Soft Drink Worker in NY and as an employee of Guadalupe County. He also served in the U.S. Army and helped clear land for the runway at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska during the Korean Conflict.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Natale and Jennie and sisters Philomena and Mary and his foster son, Lance Culotta.
Mike is survived by his loving daughter, Cathy Davis and her husband (Aaron), his adopted daughter Michelle, his Granddaughter, Chelsey Davis and grandson Andrew Davis.
Private Interment with Military Honors will be held at a later date.
