Mary Katherine Tiller was called home on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at the age of 98. She was born to Kenneth Hutchings and Beulah (Shackleford) Hutchings on August 12, 1924, in Delta County, Texas, and she was the oldest of six siblings.
Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, George Tiller; her parents Kenneth Hutchings and Beulah (Shackleford) Hutchings; daughter, Sandra K. Tiller; great granddaughter, Darian Hunter and siblings, HA Hutchings, Billy Hutchings, Bobbie Wiley, Juanelle Dye, and Audie King.
Left to cherish and honor her memory are her son, Ken Tiller; daughter-in-law, Elaine Tiller; Grandchildren, Pamela Sue Hunter, James Kirk Tiller, Patricia Elaine Johnson, Kimberly Jean Weikle, and Dana Nicole Harper; Great grandchildren, Kyrstin Hunter, Cory Hunter, Isaac Gauthier, Jackson Johnson, Ashlynn Weikle, Katherine Weikle, Arianna Weikle, Kamren Darnell, Hope Cabrera, Sagan Tiller, and Spencer Tiller; and Great,Great grandchildren, Aubry and Leighton.
Katherine graduated from Chilicothe High School in 1943 in Chilicothe, Texas. After high school she went to work at Altus Air Force Base, where she met the love of her life, Airman George Tiller. They were married on August 3,1945. Katherine was a wonderful wife, mother, Grandmother, Great grandmother, sister and aunt. She always made time to take care of everyone. Katherine retired from the Montgomery Wards Department Store after 25 years. She loved watching all sports and playing golf, and volunteering for golf tournaments. Katherine was also a proud member of the “Eastern Stars” with the Alzafar Shrine.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Goetz Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. with the Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Kingsbury Cemetery.
