Maria Alicia Resendez

Maria Alicia Resendez went to be with our Lord on April 5, 2024. Maria was born on February 24, 1949 to Dario and Gregoria Resendez. She is survived by her sisters Ophelia Arce and Amelia Young. Maria is also survived by her niece Deborah and great nieces Stacie and Stephanie.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents, brother in-law Jimmy Arce, niece Patricia Arce, brother in law Harold “Tiny” Young and nephew Thom Alvarez.

Maria began a career with the City of Seguin in the utilities department. She then continued with the city as manager of the Guadalupe County Coliseum. Following her retirement from the city, Maria began working as an Instructional Assistant at Koennecke Elementary.

Maria was an avid reader, watching cooking and gardening shows and following her novelas. She enjoyed spending time when she could with her family. Maria had a deep faith and was in constant prayer.

The family would like to thank the Guadalupe Regional Medical Center staff for her care here in Seguin. We would also like to thank the Main Methodist staff in San Antonio, especially the ICU staff for their care of Maria.

Services for Maria will take place at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Seguin on Thursday, April 11, 2024.

Mass 10:00 am

Burial to follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park, New Braunfels, Tx.
