Lucille Mary Haecker passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024, in Seguin, Texas. She was born on April 18, 1938, in Converse, Texas, to Hugo Schwanz Sr. and Agnes Retzloff Schwanz.
Lucille will always be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family and friends. She graduated from East Central High School in 1956 and went on to touch the lives of many with her warmth and compassion. Lucille valued family over everything, she loved family gatherings and celebrations and acted as the primary caretaker of her mother for many years. She was employed by Southwestern Bell/AT&T for over 30 years as an engineering technician. Through her work, she was able to assist with hurricane recovery efforts where she was able to impact countless lives. When not working she enjoyed traveling, gardening and playing with her dogs. She was also a dedicated fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Clifton A. Haecker, who passed away in 1981; parents, Hugo Schwanz Sr. and Agnes Retzloff Schwanz; sisters, Thelka Rennspies, Alice Miller, Ola Mae Schultz, and Betty Morkovsky. Lucille is survived by her sisters, Irene Johnson and Clara Meuth; brother, Hugo Schwanz Jr. and his wife Alice Schwanz.
Lucille's legacy of love and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Services honoring Lucille will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024 at Redeemer United Church in Zuehl, Texas. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Redeemer United Cemetery.
