Laverne Henk

LaVerne Edna (Seidel) Henk age 81, of Geronimo, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 30, 2018. She died peacefully with family by her side.

Visitation will be 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM Thursday August 2, 2018 at Goetz Funeral Home in Seguin. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, August 3, 2018 at Cross Church, 814 Bauer St, Seguin, TX 78155. Burial will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.

LaVerne was born to Elizabeth (Rabel) and Charlie Seidel Sr. on December 11, 1936 in Bastrop County, Texas. The family moved to New Braunfels, Texas when she was five years old. She married John Martin Henk on October 6, 1953. They were wonderful parents to three children, Judy, Donnie and Mitchell. She retired from Motorola Company. LaVerne enjoyed traveling, bowling, dancing and playing slot machines. She will be forever remembered as a loving, Wife, Mother, Oma, Sister, Tanta and friend to many.

She is preceded in death by her husband John Henk, daughter Judy (Henk) Bernhard, grandson Jonathon Henk, sister Lillian (Seidel) Lehman.

Survivors include her son Donnie, daughter in-law Betsy, son Mitchell and son in-law Chris Bernhard. Grandchildren Tiffany (Michael) Niles, Nicole (Mike) Purdum, Bryan (Laura Jane) Bernhard, Kendra (Clayton) Chambers, Derek (Rachael) Henk and Sara Henk. Sisters, Lawrine Marek, Lenora Mueller, Lugine Voss, brother Charlie (Carol) Seidel. Brother in-laws Roman Lehmann, Leo (Annie) Henk and sister in-law Betty (Albert) Jandt. Numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are, Bryan Bernhard, Clayton Chambers, Derek Henk, Leon Henk, Mike Purdum and Whitney Niles. Honorary pallbearers are Cody Schmitz and Colton Rudeloff.
