Kenneth Warden

Kenneth "Ken" Carlos Warden aged 86 years passed away peacefully at home on February 26, 2020.  Ken was born on December 16, 1933 in San Antonio, Texas to the late Carlos Otto and Emma Ella (Garret) Warden.  He was a beloved only child.

Ken graduated in 1952 from Edison HS in San Antonio, Texas.  Ken proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1956-58, then in the Ready Reserves until 1962.  Ken was stationed at Fort Bliss Army Base in El Paso, Texas.  While at Fort Bliss he was assigned to work at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico.

Ken moved to Seguin in 1968 with the Texas Highway Department in which he tested materials used for highway jobs at Structural Metals Incorporated (SMI). He retired from the highway department after 30 years of employment,  In 1974 Ken started his own business "Ken's Lock & Key Service".  In 1987 he joined "LASA" - Locksmith Association of San Antonio.  Shortly thereafter he joined "TLA" - Texas Locksmith Association.  He was active in both organizations and held numerous official positions over the course of 25+ yrs of membership.

In 1978 Ken married Sharon Dodd, blending their two families together.  Ken and Sharon were married for 41 years and 9 months.  Ken was a wonderful husband, dad, grandfather and great grandfather.  Ken and Sharon made lifelong friends in Seguin and San Antonio through both extend family and the locksmith association.  His warm smile and quick wit will be greatly missed.

Ken is preceded in death by his parents and step son Steven Dodd.  Survivors include his loving wife Sharon Mae Warden; children Allen Warden & wife Debbie, Kenlynn Warden, Lori Dodd, Scott Dodd, Lani Chaparro & husband Gilbert; grandchildren Jessica Lazrine & husband Jake, Ethan Warden, Shayne Stewart, Schaun Stewart & wife Andrea, Nancy Lorfing & husband John, Susan Barnes & husband Ryan, Lisa DeLeon & husband Dustin, Kate Chaparro, Grant Chaparro; great grandchildren Emma Lorfing, Ella Lorfing, Dylan Vornsand, Kylee Vornsand, Madilynn Barnes, Abree DeLeon, Cainen DeLeon, Daxton DeLeon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Guadalupe County Humane Society or Guadalupe Regional Hospice Services.

The family wishes to thank the entire staff of Guadalupe Regional Hospice for their expert care and comfort they provided to Ken and Sharon in his final days.  Truly angels on earth. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
