Jose Soto

On Wednesday, December 2, 2020, Jose Soto, loving husband and father of three children, passed away at age 74.

Jose was born on December 27, 1945 in Harlingen, TX to Moises and Emilia (Uresti) Soto. He was a faithful Christian and a preacher of the gospel for over 55 years. He was invited to preach all over the United States and through Central and South America during that time. He served as the preacher for the Heideke Street Church of Christ in Seguin from 1987 through 2015. In addition to preaching full time he also owned Joe’s Sprinklers, providing landscaping and irrigation services for over 30 years.

On February 21, 1969, he married Yolanda Deanda Soto. They raised one son, Roman and two daughters, Amanda and Marisa.

Jose’s  passion was sharing the gospel with everyone he met. He also loved golf, playing chess, reading and spending time with his family. He was known for his love of the gospel, quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and generous spirit.

Jose was preceded in death by his father, Moises, and his mother, Emilia. He is survived by his wife, Yolanda; his three children, Roman (Rebecca), Amanda (David), and Marisa (Justin); his brother, Alfredo; and his grandchildren, Ryan, Emily, Grace, Olivia and Eli. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 11th, 2020 at the Goetz Funeral Home at 713 N. Austin Street in Seguin, TX. Visitation will be held between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm with a service beginning at 1:00 pm.
