JoNell DeBerry Johnson

JoNell DeBerry Johnson beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother slipped peacefully into the hands of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 31, 2020.  JoNell was born on May 11, 1934 to Vestal Augustus and Avis Kelly DeBerry in Gonzales, Texas.  Both parents preceded her in death as her brothers Jimmy DeBerry and Malcolm DeBerry.  JoNell is also preceded in death by her in laws Oren and Eula Johnson and sister- in- law Dorothy Brewer.  On July 27, 1957 she married the love of her life, Oren E. Johnson.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She is survived by her daughter Kathy Johnson, 2 grandsons, Kevin and Chris Gerdes of Seguin, great grand-daughters Savanah and Xylyn Gerdes, Sister, Judy D. Case and husband, sister-in-laws Beverly DeBerry and Dorothy DeBerry, as well as a host of sister -in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.  JoNell graduated from Gonzales High School in 1953. She was a stay home housewife and homemaker.
