James Garrett

James "Mike" Garrett, 84, of Seguin, died Sunday December 30, 2018 at Guadalupe Valley Nursing Center in Seguin.

Mike was born on July, 8, 1934 in Frederick, Oklahoma to Frank and Janet Garrett. He was a longtime resident of Seguin and retired as a District Manager for Consolidated Freightways. Mike was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and enjoyed fishing, playing golf and watching television. He will be most remembered as a man that loved his family and enjoyed their company.

Mike is survived by his son, James Michael Garrett II and his wife Cindy, of San Antonio; daughter, Lisa Rodriguez and her husband, Mike, of Seguin; grandson, Christopher M. Rodriguez, of Seguin; brother, James Warner "Skeet" Garrett and his wife, Diana, of Houston. Mike is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Shirley Garrett, and his parents.

Family and friends will gather at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday January 5, 2019 at Goetz Funeral Home 713 N. Austin St. in Seguin, with a graveside service to follow at 10:00 A.M. at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park 2951 S. Texas Hwy. 46 New Braunfels 78130.

Arrangements are under the direction of Goetz Funeral Home in Seguin.
