Jack Winston Fowler, a lifetime resident of La Vernia, Texas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. He was born on June 4, 1942, in San Antonio, Texas.
Jack is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Betty Fowler; son, Shawn Fowler; grandson, Josh Fowler; mother, Clara Sammons; sisters, Delores Fowler and Charles Lee Jones; and brother, Douglas Fowler.
Jack’s legacy will continue through his children, Sidney Fowler (Nancy), Theresa Decker (Grant), Gwen Fowler, and Shelton Fowler (Crissy); grandchildren, Michelle Decker, Nicholas Fowler, Brandon Decker, Jessica Briggs (Micheal), Julia Fowler, Jonathan Fowler (Cayla), Jacob Fowler (Danielle), Jaron Fowler, and Galvin Fowler. Jack is also survived by four great grandchildren, Lana, Miranda, Jayden, and Alice. He was also loved by many extended family members.
Jack will be remembered as a hardworking and charismatic man. After graduating from La Vernia High School, Jack entered the world of commission sales. In 1987, when what he called a “happy accident,” he and his late wife Betty found a swarm of bees and “boxed them up.” As a result, Fowler Honey Farm was formed. Over the next 35 years, while working closely with his family, Fowler Honey Farm grew and became a successful honey business.
Jack had a deep love for his family. He cherished every moment spent with loved ones, often bringing happiness and warmth wherever he went. He loved dancing to his favorite country western music, traveling, spending time with his friends, reading, drinking a cold glass of milk and spending time with his beloved cat, Footsey. Jack admired the beauty of his land, often spending time sitting on the porch watching the birds, tending to his animals, and enjoying the peacefulness that surrounded him.
Services honoring Jack will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Goetz Funeral Home, Seguin, TX. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Concrete Cemetery in La Vernia, Texas.
