Mr. Irwin Garland Orcutt, Jr. age 89, of Seguin, Texas passed away November 30, 2019, in Seguin. He was born on July 8, 1930 in Richmond, Virginia to parents, Irwin Garland and Nanny (Giles) Orcutt, Sr. An Army veteran and legally blind, Irwin spent forty-three years in the food service industry with the Texas State Commission for The Blind. Well known for his amazing conversational skills, Irwin could speak up to 160 words per minute with gusts up to 200. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Orcutt; sister, Evelyn Goodwin; sons, Jim and his wife, Katrina, Tim and wife, Den, David and wife, Lilly, and Steve and Easley; along with five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Irwin was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack; and son, John Mark Orcutt.
The Orcutt family would like to extend a special thank you to Lisa Tripp who provided such loving care for their dad in his final months.
The family will receive friends for a visitation prior to the service on Monday, December 9, 2019, at 10:00 a.m., at Goetz Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will follow beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Neil Kibbe of The Country Church in Marion officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday afternoon at Kingsbury Cemetery in Kingsbury, Texas.
