Irene Wiedner

Irene Wiedner passed away on Friday, January 26, 2018 at the age of 85. She was born in Seguin to Richard and Hulda (Penshorn) Wolter. Irene was preceded in death by her son, Regan Wiedner. She is survived by her husband, Elmon Wiedner; her children, Royce (Kathy) Wiedner, Robin (Bob) Veytia, Reba Wiedner and daughter -in-law, Michele Wiedner. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Michael (Amber) Wiedner, Whitney Wiedner, Amanda Wiedner, Staton (Haley) Wiedner, Nicolas Veytia and Ariana Veytia, as well as 3 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Caleb and Taylor Wiedner.
Irene was active in her community and held various officer positions within the Marion Home Extension Club and Guadalupe County Fair Board. She was also a faithful member of Redeemer United Church of Christ where she served on the council and was a Women's Fellowship member. Irene worked as a bank teller at 1st National Bank in Seguin and Fort Sam National Bank and National Bank of Commerce in San Antonio. She was an avid gardener and talented seamstress. She enjoyed dancing, gambling and baking, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Goetz Funeral Home. Funeral services with burial to follow will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Redeemer United Church of Christ with Pastor Leroy Zillman officiating.
