Irene Ida Schulze

Irene Ida Schulze was born on June 11, 1933 in La Vernia, Texas to Julius and Elsa Doege. She passed away on May 24, 2020 at the age of 86 in New Braunfels, Texas.  Irene grew up in Poth, Texas on a farm with her three brothers and three sisters.  She married Harvey Schulze in April of 1953 and moved to Marion, Texas and raised three children Barbara, Roger, and Bryan.  Irene worked at A B Frank and Company and then worked at Mission Valley Mills in New Braunfels, Texas as a cloth inspector for many years before retiring.  After Irene had retired from the mill, her hobbies kept her busy.  She would tend to her yard and flower beds and when she was not tending her flowers, she enjoyed quilting and painting folk art.  Irene is preceded in death by her husband Harvey Schulze and brothers Leroy Doege, Herbert Doege, Harvey Doege and sister Evelyn Bednarz.  Irene is survived by her sisters Dorathy Gavlik and Alice Titzman(Archie), children, Barbara Hunt(Mark Stamnits), Roger Schulze(Cheryl), and Bryan Schulze(Sheryl), four grand children, Jody Hunt, Delta Hunt, Dawn Luu, and Gary Schule and six great grand children, Anthony Sciancalepore, Emma Luu, Ethan Luu, Emery Luu, Gage Hunt and Stela Hunt plus many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Goetz Funeral Home (713 N. Austin St. Seguin, Texas 78155) on Friday May 29, 2020 from 9am to 11am with a funeral service beginning at 11am.  Interment will follow at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Marion, Texas.  Funeral services are under the direction of Goetz Funeral Home.
