Herlinda Garza

Herlinda Garza, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 in Seguin, Texas. She was born on October 7, 1966, to Gilberto Garza Sr. and Dahlia Guadarama Castro in New Braunfels, Texas.

Throughout her life, Herlinda was known for her joyful spirit. She worked for many years as a cook and then owned and operated her own bar. Herlinda loved to play pool, darts, and bingo, and she was a proud member of the 8-Ball Association. She also loved going camping and fishing with family and friends. Herlinda loved to gamble and especially enjoyed going on trips to Coushatta with her daughter and daughter-in-law.

Herlinda is preceded in death by her parents, Gilberto Garza Sr. and Dahlia Guadarama Castro, brother, Lorenzo Garza, and sister, Cynthia Garza. 

She is survived her daughters, Katherine Garza Saenz and wife, Rosemary Saenz, Lexi Villarreal (Josh); grandsons, Christian Garza and Devin Recio; siblings, Gil Garza, Christina Espinoza, Diane Pastrano, Jessica Garza and husband Raul, and Lisa Garza. She is further survived by her longtime companion of many years, Nancy Davila, as well as her beloved fur baby, Bailey. Herlinda also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

In the hearts of those who loved her deeply, Herlinda's memory will live on forever. 

Services honoring Herlinda's life will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024, at Goetz Funeral Home in Seguin, Texas. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. followed by a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. All services will conclude that evening and a cremation will follow.
