Gwyn Dennis Degen, 95, entered into rest on January 4th, 2025, in Seguin, TX. She was born October 21, 1929, to Dell and Leah Dennis. 

She was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church of Seguin. A devoted Christian, a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She attended all of her grandchildren’s weddings and cherished her time with all seven of her great grandchildren.

A beautiful woman, inside and out, she loved her family and friends. She enjoyed bridge for many years, loved to read and loved to laugh and make others laugh too.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Donald P. Degen.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Donald C. and Lori Degen, grandchildren Crystal Ricker (Jason), Heather Evans (Taylor) and Matthew Degen (Katie), her seven great grandchildren, sister and brother-in-law Judy and Jimmy Price and numerous nieces and nephews in Texas and Michigan.

Special thanks to Karen Taylor and her staff at Seguin Assisted Living for their loving care over the last 11+ years. In her last days, she was under the loving care and support of Guadalupe Valley Hospice Services Team, residing at The Home at Baer Creek with Melissa and Tracy Hunt, who were so gracious, attentive and loving with her as well as with us.

The family would like to thank everyone for their special thoughts and prayers.

Gwyn will be laid to rest at San Geronimo Cemetery in Seguin, Monday, January 13th at 11:00 AM, under the direction of Goetz Funeral Home. Reception to follow at First United Methodist Church.
