Gabina Ortiz

Gabina Hernandez Ortiz was called home to be with our Lord Friday, June 9, 2017 at the age of 77. She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Bicenta Hernandez; and daughter, Irmalinda Ortiz. She is survived by her husband, Pedro Ortiz; children, Robert Ortiz, Mary E. Zurek, and Johnny Ortiz; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Gabina was a caring and nurturing mother who loved to sew and crochet. When you came to her home, she would feed you her fabulous fideo; which she always made and it was everyone's favorite dish. She also made tasty homemade tamales that were so delicious; people would place orders for them. Gabina was a wonderful person who was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. Visitation will begin Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm at Goetz Funeral Home. A funeral procession will depart Friday, June 16, 2017 at 9:30 am for a 10:00 am Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at San Geronimo Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Goetz Funeral Home, Seguin, TX.
