Evelyn Olga (Busch) Lenz passed away on December 30, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 76. She was born on October 25, 1947, in Seguin, Texas. Evelyn will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.
Evelyn was a woman of remarkable determination and dedication. She graduated from Seguin High School in 1966. After graduation, she began working at Lehman's until 1972. Evelyn then spent 35 years working at Hexcel Corporation until her well-earned retirement.
Outside of her professional life, Evelyn had a host of hobbies and interests that brought her much joy. She loved spending time with family and cherished every moment with them. She also enjoyed visiting with friends and loved making new friends. Evelyn had an appreciation for flowers and plants that brightened her surroundings. Additionally, Evelyn found delight in playing bingo and could often be found sewing or reading a captivating book.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her beloved husband Stanley Anton Lenz. They married on November 1, 1970 and they shared a bond that grew stronger with each passing year. She is also preceded in death by her parents: Olga Lehman Busch and Henry Joseph Busch; as well as her mother-in-law Thelka F. (Vader) Lenz and father-in-law Anton Franz Lenz.
Evelyn leaves behind a legacy through her surviving family members: son, James Lenz and his wife Pamela (Wallace) Lenz; grandson, Colton Lenz; niece, Brenda Salge Martin and her husband David; nephew, Kevin Salge and his wife Jennifer; great nephew, Bly Martin and his fiancé Samantha Davis.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Evelyn's life will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Goetz Funeral Home in Seguin, Texas. The service will commence at 1:00 PM, with a burial following at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park in New Braunfels, Texas.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Kevin Salge, David Martin, Brian Beutnagel, Eric Schmoekel, Clarence Voight, and Eric Borchers.
The family would like to extend thanks to the doctors and nurses of Guadalupe Regional Medical Center, Stone Oak Methodist Hospital, and Hope Hospice for their exceptional care in Evelyn’s final days.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association, Hope Hospice of New Braunfels, or the charity of your choice.
