Esteban "Steve" Carrillo

November 12, 1946 — January 29, 2024

Seguin, Texas

On January 29th, 2024, Esteban “Steve” Carrillo, 77, peacefully entered his Lord’s embrace with his family at his side. Steve was a strong man of faith and believed his reward would be in heaven. Steve famously said, “I do right by God while I’m here on earth because he is watching me and will take care of everything.”

Steve was born on November 12, 1946, to Magdaleno Carrillo Sr. and Jesusa “Rodriguez” Carrillo. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Julio Carrillo, Juan Adolfo Carrillo, Guadalupe Carrillo, and his sister Rosemary Carrillo

To lovingly honor his memory are his wife, Helen Carrillo, his children Michael Carrillo, Michelle Carrillo, and Stephanie Carrillo, and his beloved grandchildren, Michael Alex Carrillo, Logan Carrillo, and Sophia Carrillo. As well as his brothers; Magdaleno Carrillo Jr. and wife Yolanda, Jesse Carrillo and wife Becky, Sam Carrillo, Cundo Carrillo and wife Mary, Robert Carrillo, and wife Mary; sisters Sylvia Castellanos (Ruben Castellanos), Rosie Carrillo and Earnest Garza, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

Steve was a beloved mechanic trusted city-wide, who received several accolades including a letter to the editor of the Seguin Gazette for his generosity in helping those in need. Daddy never met a stranger, whether he knew you for twenty minutes or twenty years, he was like your best friend.

The loss of Steve can only be soothed by enjoying his most cherished times of fishing off piers in Corpus Christi or hunting in the woods of South-Central Texas.

Finally, the family would like to express their gratitude for the wonderful nursing staff at North Central Baptist Hospital and Accent Hospice. Thank you to everyone who prayed, cried, and hoped for a miracle with us during this difficult time.

As his final wish, we are honoring his request for a cremation in lieu of a funeral service. Please make any donations to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on behalf of Esteban “Steve” Carrillo.
