Erna Calvert was born in Belmont, Texas on January 3, 1944, to Frank Jones and Thelma Jones.
Erna professed her love for Christ at an early age. She was a faithful Servant at the Unity Baptist Church where she served under the leadership of Reverend Jimmy Hudson.
Erna attended school at Ball High School in Seguin, Texas. She began her employment at Tyson, which was formerly known as Holly Farms. She retired from Tyson after working there for many years.
On June 7, 2022, Erna answered the Master’s call to enter into His loving arms. Her parents, Frank and Thelma Jones precede her along with her son, Ronald Glenn Jones; her grandson, Robert Hodge Crutcher Jr.; two brothers, Alvin (Boomer) Jones and Wesley D. Jones; and her sister, Idella Mae Jones.
Although we loved her with every fiber of our being, God loved her more, so we yield to the all wise and all-knowing God. Erna’s memory will be forever cherished by her husband of 50 years, Arthur Lewis Calvert; a daughter, Lisa Vonne Crutcher (Robert); two brothers, Frank Jones (Annie) and Patrick Jones (Anna); four sisters, Maxine Cockrum, Patricia Jones, Jennifer Morgan, and Diane Hicks; two grandchildren, Ayla Dawn Marie Clark and Robert Dewayne Clark; and her one living aunt, Pearl Ella Lemons. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Serving as pallbearers wil be Johnaven Webb, Brian Keith Jones, Thomas Cockrum Jr., Dexter Ranson, Alvin Jones Jr., and Timothy Troell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Trenton Cockrum, Thomas Cockrum III, Jalen Privott, Kelon Sutton, Robert Sutton, and Jacobe Jackson.
