Elsie Mae Hansmann Jefferies, 75, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018 after a brave battle against Alzheimer's disease.
She is preceded in death by her son Michael Jefferies, sister Geraldine and her parents.
Survivors include her devoted husband of 57 years Ronald Jefferies, Sr., son Ronald Jefferies, Jr., daughter Janet Kelley (Robb), three grandchildren: Megan, Lauren, and Kelli Jefferies; her three sisters, Mary Ann Scott, Gladys Smith (Gene) and Alice Peck (Rick); as well as 13 nieces and nephews.
Elise Mae was born in New Braunfels, Texas on September 22, 1942 to Christ and Mary Hansmann. Elsie was the second of five daughters. Her sisters and she helped her parents with the family farm and were active with the Kingsbury Evangelist Lutheran Church. Elsie was a member of the first class to graduate from Canyon High School in 1960. She met her future husband, Ronnie Sr., at Gruene's Dance Hall and they were married on January 14, 1961. Shortly after, they relocated to Bastrop, Texas, where she resided until her death.
She loved music, gardening and cooking. Most of her energy was devoted to caring for her family. She was an amazing mother and grandmother and her love for us will live on in our hearts forever. We take comfort in knowing that we have a new guardian angel watching over us.
A Memorial Service will be held at Goetz Funeral Chapel on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made in honor of Elsie Mae to the Alzheimer's Association. https://act.alz.org/site/Donation2?df[_]id=32112&32112.donation=form1&
