Ellen Cooper

Ellen Olivia Cooper of McQueeney, Texas entered eternal rest on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at the age of 81. She was born to Moyle Ray Cooper and Mary Belle Mapp on April 9, 1940 in Laurel, Mississippi.

She is preceded in death by her son, Steven Ray Lynn, and parents, Moyle and Mary Cooper.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Denise Lynn, and JoEllen Freeman (Joel); grandchildren, Dusty (Stephnie), Cody (Levi), Joshua, Summer, and Noah; and great grandchildren, Landon and Logan Olivia. She is further survived by numerous loving friends who were more like sisters.

Ellen was a great mother, grandmother, friend, artist, and beautician. She was very giving, loved to joke and make others laugh, and had a Heart of Gold . Ellen was very proud of where she came from and always made it known that she was raised in Laurel, Mississippi. She had a strong passion for animals, especially dogs and cats, and she was a devout Catholic woman who held strongly to her faith. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly, and she will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

A Rosary will be recited on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at St. James Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:30 a.m. A Reception following the Mass will be held at St. James Parish Family Center.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Guadalupe County Humane Society.
