Elida Castillo peacefully entered eternal rest on October 8, 2023, at the age of 88. She was born in Seguin, Texas to Ignacio Leos and Aurelia Alvarez on March 26, 1935.
Elida was a loving wife and mother. She loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed going dancing with her husband, Jose. She often attended bingo and enjoyed taking care of her plants. Elida was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and participated in various church organizations such as the Guadalupana Society and the Cursillistas.
Elida is preceded in death by her husband, Jose A. Castillo; daughter, Angie Ledesma; son, Joe S. Castillo; grandson, Jesse Ledesma Jr.; parents, Ignacio and Aurelia Leos; sisters, Lorenza Vasquez, Dominga Perez, Elena Guerrero, and brother, Rosalio Leos.
Elida is survived by her daughters, Maria Espinoza (Juan), Irene Castillo, Janie Castillo, and son, Rene Castillo. She is further survived by 16 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
Services honoring Elida will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Seguin, Texas. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the Holy Rosary recited at 10:00 a.m. and the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
