Clara Wittig

Clara S. Wittig was called home to be with our Lord on October 25, 2016 in Seguin, Texas at the age of 91. She was born in Llano, Texas on June 22, 1925. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Chester A. Wittig; parents, Rudolph and Lydia Schoerlemmer; sisters, Emilie Schoerlemmer, Emma Marie Schoerlemmer and Esther Schoerlemmer; brother, Reynold Schoerlemmer and daughter, Kathryn Williams. She is survived by her son, Stanley C. Wittig; daughter, Carol A. Porter; 2 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; cousins, Frances Fain, Lillian Kelley, and Carl Schoerlemmer; caregivers, Sharia, Ginger, Cindy and Terry; and numerous other relatives and friends. She attended Llano School District and graduated in 1943 from Llano High School. She then attended Texas Lutheran University and graduated in 1952. She was a school teacher for 32 years and after retiring her and her husband did small scale ranching in Llano, Texas. They moved to Seguin, Texas in 1992. A visitation will begin on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Goetz Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 12:00 pm with a 1:00 pm Church Service at Emanuel's Lutheran Church. A burial will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emanuel's Lutheran Church or to Mosaic Homes. Arrangements are entrusted to Goetz Funeral Home.
