Carmen Otero

Carmen Marie Otero, 94, of Seguin, and formerly of Tulare, California, passed away Monday, January 14, 2019 at Guadalupe Valley Nursing Center in Seguin. She was born September 6, 1924 to in Morovis, Puerto Rico. Carmen was a LVN for many years and enjoyed cooking, baking, casinos and entertaining. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all, but more than anything, for her generous spirit and selflessness.
Carmen is survived by her daughters, Myrna Avalos of Seguin Yeidy Rodriguez of Clovis, California and Pura Cordero of Visalia, California; son, Ray Cordero and his wife Yolanda, of Seguin; grandchildren, Reggie, Eila, and her husband Patrick, Nadia and Ray Jr.; she is also survived by numerous other family members in Puerto Rico. The family would like to extend a special acknowledgement of gratitude toward the staff and CNA's at Guadalupe Valley Nursing Center for the exceptional care and love they extended to Carmen.
A gathering of Carmen's family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited immediately after on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Goetz memorial Chapel 713 N. Austin St. in Seguin. A graveside service will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, January 18, 2019 at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park 2951 S, TX-46, New Braunfels, TX 78130.
