Audrey Mae Mosel was born in Farnhamville, Iowa on May 2, 1926 to Henry and Louise (Naefke) Mosel. Audrey graduated in 1943 from Lohrville High School. Upon graduaton she was recruited by the U.S. Government. She was sent to Washington, DC to work as a secretary during WWII. This started her 40 year career as a civil servant.
Audrey married William Ressler (Bill) on June 16, 1950 while he was stationed in North Carolina. They enjoyed nearly 70 years of marriage. After WWII they travelled to many Air Force and Army assignments. They spent many years in Wichita Falls, Texas area. Bill was stationed at Sheppard Air Force base. They were also stationed in Utah, Ohio, and Dallas. No matter where they were stationed, they always returned to Texas.
Audrey and Bill had an active non-service life. They often flew their small airplane to Iowa to visit family and friends. They travelled the US in their RV. For short trips they rode their pair of Harleys. They also travelled the world. One trip had them visiting the Pacific islands that Bill “visited” during WWII as a Marine.
Upon retirement, they returned to their beloved Texas. They spent their senior years in the Seguin and McQueeney area. Audrey loved to garden and raise guineas hens on their acreage. After Bill’s death in 2016, she moved north to Kansas to be closer to family.
