Armando G. Rodriguez was born November 22, 1944, in Ft. Stockton, Texas to Elias Sr. and Juanita Rodriguez. Growing up in Ft. Stockton, he was known to many as “Chuco”, there is where he met the love of his life, Mary Rodriguez, and had three daughters: Elizabeth, Bonnie and Jeannie. There was nothing he couldn’t do, self-taught Armando could fix anything, build anything, and master any skill. He worked as a gas plant operator for Valero Energy Corporation until he retired. His passion was anything outdoors, taking his family out fishing and camping brought him joy. Armando took pride in all his building projects, from building a four-bedroom home for his family to building “his barn” where he spent many hours in his workshop.
Armando passed away on October 24, 2023, with his family at his bedside. He is preceded in death by his father, Elias Rodriguez Sr., mother, Juanita Rodriguez, and brother, Elias Rodriguez Jr. Armando is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Rodriguez of Seguin, Texas, his daughters Elizabeth Rodriguez of Seguin, Texas, Bonnie Naranjo (Salvador) of Yorktown, Texas, Jeannie Rodriguez of Seguin, Texas; his sister, Erlinda Chapman of Ft. Stockton, Texas; his brothers, Joe (Estella) Rodriguez of Pecos, Texas; Mario Rodriguez of Ft. Stockton; 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Seguin, Texas. A viewing and rosary will be held Monday, October 30, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. at Goetz Funeral Home in Seguin, Texas.
Serving as Pallbearers are Armando (AJ) Rodriguez, Nicole Rangel, Emilio Esqueda, Andrew Nieto, Gilbert Cevallos and Salvador Naranjo, and Honorary pallbearer, Shaun Mathis.
