Alicia Blaine

Alicia Blaine peacefully entered eternal rest on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at the age of 75. She was born to Manuel Ramon Aguilar and Anselma Obregon on July 17, 1947 in Seguin, Texas.

Alicia is preceded in death by both of her parents; brother, Robert “Bobby” Aguilar; sister, Zulema Martinez; brother-in-law, Jerry Young; sister-in-law, Geneva “Kay” Aguilar, and aunt, Geneva “Keno” Martinez.  She is survived by her husband Robert Blaine; sons, Jerry Torres Jr. and Joe Torres; daughters, Terry Torres (Noel Barrientez), Melinda Clark (Michael) and Linda Angeles (Juan); sisters, Esperanza “Hope” Sanchez and Mary E. Young; and brothers, Luis “Jimbo” Aguilar and Theodore “Ted” Aguilar.  She is further survived by her grandchildren; Zachary Torres, Jason Armstrong (Kathleen), Jeremiah George Armstrong (Dilcia Castillo), Kristina Armstrong (Jesus Lupercio), Abigail Barrientez (Josh Villela), Thomas Hernandez, Elizabeth “Chevelle” Hernandez, Amanda Barrientez (Jonathan Romans), Kimberley Angeles, Cristian Angeles, Bianca Angeles, Karilee Benefield, Tammie Torres, and Jeffery Torres-Grimm; 24 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Alicia, also known as Momma, Ammy, and GG, was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  Motherhood was her life, her purpose, her joy, her passion, and her greatest achievement; it was what she lived for. Our Momma loved family gatherings and enjoyed making enchiladas, rice, beans, and potato salad.  No one ever left the house hungry and there was always enough to feed anyone that walked through the doors. She also loved to volunteer at the local schools and always participated in the parent-teacher organizations. Momma enjoyed doing arts and crafts, and playing bingo, especially Mexican Loteria during family gatherings. She enjoyed watching “All Of My Children” as it was her favorite soap opera, and you couldn’t disturb her while she was watching her show. She loved listening to Tejano/Spanish music, and her favorite group was Little Joe Y La Familia. She loved tending to her flowers and growing mini roses. Momma was also an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.  Time will pass and things will change but the peaceful memories she left us with will remain in our hearts forever.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Goetz Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. All services will conclude that evening as the family will fulfill Alicia’s wishes of cremation.
